Cardinal Bar photos in the Isthmus this week

I was commissioned to photograph some interiors of the renovated Cardinal Bar as well as some editorial portraits of the new owner Ricardo Gonzales for Isthmus this week. The shoot went well and I've known Ricardo for years now. I actually used to DJ at his Madison nightclub in 2003. Good times!

Frankie Vega live at the Cardinal (video)

I had my trusty point-and-shoot Fuji F30 at the Cardinal last weekend and decided to shoot some short clips of video. The clips are of the dancefloor as well as shot from the DJ booth which gives a nice behind the scenes look of the nightclub. This is my first (sad) attempt at video editing, but it was a fun little project for me.

An older shot.

Some photos are just waiting to be taken. This is one of those times at the Inferno NIghtclub. I set my point-and-shoot on the counter and snapped this one in 2005. The vignetting and reflections were naturally occurring without the use of Photoshop. Since I could set the camera down I was able to use ISO 50 or 100 (my camera didn't record it in the EXIF data??).
