Back in the gym
I took a few month off of going to the gym since I was doing all my running outdoors. Last week I rejoined SnapFitness and paid up six months in advance. I'm super excited about getting back into shape and I banged out a 5k in 28:30 tonight. It feels really, really good and I'm looking forward to stopping in a few times a week this winter!
I'm chillin' at home tonight listening to the album by Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson on myspace. It's pretty cool so far, and I might pick it up on iTunes at some point. Glad that finally has a wishlist feature!

5k run for charity
Saturday morning I ran a 5k race to raise money & awareness to clean Dane County’s lakes. It was a great experience and I hope to enter more 5-10k events in coming years. I finished this run in 28:08 which I am quite happy with. Generally, my pace is about 10 minute/mile.

Well work has slowed down a bit so I'm keeping myself busy at the gym. I go to Snap Fitness in my neighborhood and I really love it. Today I did my first true five mile run and it took 53 minutes going between 5.2-6.2mph. I run with an incline of .5-1.0% which recreates running outdoors with small hills and wind resistance. According to one article on Runner's World Magazine online I burned 488 calories on the treadmill. Not bad for an hours work!
