Running Adobe CS3 on Snow Leopard

After reading the PC World article 'Adobe CS3 Purrs on Snow Leopard' I ran out and bought my copy of Snow Leopard (OS 10.6) for my Intel laptop. I came home and backed up my machine on Time Machine then unplugged the external drive before installing Snow Leopard. This way, if I find any major compatibility issues (in the next week or so) I can use Time Machine to restore back to OS 10.5. From what I understand, if Time Machine backs up your machine once Snow Leopard is installed-you might not be able to restore back to 10.5 (Leopard).

So far, I've done limited testing in Photoshop, Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign, NeoOffice, WeatherDock and Linotype FontExplorer X v. 1.2.3 (fonts auto activate). I have not had any issues whatsoever. That being said, there could be bugs buried deep within menu items that I haven't tested yet. Only time will tell.

Update: January 8, 2010. I have been using Creative Suite 3 on my OS 10.6.2 Mac for over four months now and I'm happy to say it works perfectly for me.

Each year Isthmus puts out a magazine insert into the newspaper. This year I have seven photos in the mag. Here's my favorite one, a portrait of Meteorologist Charlie Shortino.

Style + Shopping, Madison Magazine

I've got two pages of product photos in the September edition of Madison Magazine. The shoot went very smoothly, as Tim Burton (AD) and Shayna Miller (Style Editor) are the consummate professionals. I bring my MacBook Pro along to shoots and we're able to view the images onscreen and quickly make subtle changes to lighting and placement.

Months ago, I shot an editorial assignment for Urbanite Magazine. I drove to Milwaukee at 5am and had a photo shoot with Will Allen who recently was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship (Genius Award). Will is doing groundbreaking work in his field of urban farming. Here's an outtake from our photoshoot.

New fashion/beauty work with Danyell & Rosalee

I had a great time working with Danyell Dykstra (model) and Rosalee Eichstedt (stylist) as well as her assistant Mallory Schinker. We did a few hours of shooting at my Bedford St. studio then did some shots outside on location. Everyone worked really hard and we got some fantastic photos!

On Friday I photographed some well-designed car desks designed for mobile professionals. I met the client Chris from On The Go Desks at my studio and we shot for a few hours. I'm mailing out his CD of retouched images today so the turnaround on the project was just 4 days. Here are a few of my favorite images from the shoot, two of which I cross processed in post-production.

New portrait photo

Last week I photographed Heidi for the cover of Isthmus newspaper. We met up at University Hospital in Madison and did the portraits there. For the cover image I dragged the shutter to backlight the photograph in order to create the mood of the image.
